The best highly recommended

To the best Safari Tour In Tanzania. I had an amazing experience from coordination of Winnie and to my guides in the Safari. My guide Saloniki is the best always greet and responds with “Hakuna Matata” and a smile. Very knowlegeable and friendly along with our driver at the Safari Jackson. I highly recommend this tour. You will see all the animals you want and just tell them. The buffet was also great.

Amazing day trip safari!!

We had the most amazing day in Mikumi National Park!! The communication was great with Winnie beforehand as she organised everything for us. They picked us up straight from our accommodation in Dar Es Salaam which was so easy and convenient! The train ride was also very smooth, but do remember to NOT bring any snacks or water with you, as they are not allowed on the train to Morogoro. We were then picked up by our guide for the day, Saloniki, by the train station. The drive was only about 1h50 to the park. When we got there we met our driver Jackson and started our game drive through the park. We got very lucky with all the animals that day, and part of that is because of both Saloniki and Jackson being amazing guides for us! Water, lunch (with soda) is included which was super nice. Couldn’t recommend more!!

Amazing safari experience in southern Tanzania

We did a 10 day/9 night safari in Southern Tanzania with Kihindo Tours and Safaris, and couldn't have been happier. Details of the trip were settled on ahead of time, with Winnie suggesting an itinerary and then adjusting based on our requests. Communication with her was very clear. We chose Kihindo because they are based in Southern Tanzania and offered what we felt was good value for money. Being based locally, we thought they would be more able to deal with any issues that might arise, and would be more familiar with the area. We appreciated that we were able to secure the booking without needing to make a huge bank transfer months ahead of time to people we'd never met. Kihindo allowed a smaller deposit and we paid the rest via credit card (with a 4% surcharge we were informed about ahead of time) the afternoon before we left on our trip. Our driver Wiliam was always early to pick us up, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a pleasure to learn more about Tanzanian culture and life while we chatted on the road or over meals. Our first 3 nights were in the wonderful Mloka Safari Lodge just outside of Nyerere National park. We arrived in the afternoon and went on an evening water safari where we learned a little bit about life on the river and saw hippos, crocs, monitor lizards, many birds, as well as fishermen before watching the sun set. Day 2 was an all day game drive where we saw lions, buffalo, giraffes, elephants, baboons, impalas, kudus, hippos, crocs, zebras, two hyenas, and a huge variety of birds. There were some lovely places to park near the river and just watch the animals. Second day started with an entertaining bush walk where we learned about many plants and their uses but only saw a few birds. We had breakfast back at the lodge before heading back out for a game drive. We finished each day in Nyerere watching a stunning sunset near the park exit. The following day we had a very long drive to Mikumi, where we went for a 10km hike in the Udzungwa mountains National park. The waterfall we went to was stunning, and the park guide we had told us lots about the vegetation and animals. The following day, Danford joined us as a second guide and driver for our two nights in Ruaha National park. There we splurged on the fanulous Mwagusi Camp inside the park. It was so nice to be able to break up the day by having coffee, drive 6:30-8:30, relaxing breakfast, back out driving 9:30-12:30, returning for a fabulous lunch and siesta during the least active and hottest part of the day, having tea and cake, and then an evening game drive from 4:30-7:00pm. Dinner under the stars was lovely. Ruaha wildlife was awesome, including a pride of lions hunting a warthog, two leopards, kudu, bat-eared foxes, giraffes, elephants, jackals, vultures, and even some elusive painted dogs. It was so great to have both Wiliam and Danford with us there so that both could look for animals and share their knowledge about them. We returned to Mikumi again and said goodbye to Danford following a long drive, then spent the following day in the park on a game drive. We were very happy we had booked with Kihindo when our vehicle unexpectedly broke down just before lunch. After Wiliam was unable to fix the problem, he got a mechanic out from town, sent us ahead to the lunch venue with a couple of other drivers he knew, and then Danford came to meet us on his day off with an open jeep to finish the game drive. As luck had it, we got a flat tire partway through, but Danford was again able to quickly get help to change it with his local contacts. By the time we left to return to Dar with Wiliam the next day, our regular closed jeep was ready for the return trip. The guys were tireless, punctual, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, hard-working, and seemed to really enjoy what they do. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kihindo or to book with them again!
