Day 1 – Discover Yerevan: Armenia’s Timeless Capital

Your adventure through the Caucasus region begins in Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. The day opens with panoramic views from Victory Park, where Mount Ararat rises in the distance like a silent guardian.

We descend into the vibrant Cascade Complex, a monumental staircase adorned with contemporary sculptures and lush terraces. Next, visit the Matenadaran, home to one of the world’s largest collections of ancient manuscripts — a true treasure for history lovers.

The walking tour continues past the State Opera House, Northern Avenue, and into the heart of the city at Republic Square. End your day wandering through Kond, a preserved pre-Soviet neighborhood of narrow lanes and rustic stone houses.

🌍 This is more than a city tour — it’s your first step into an ancient culture that thrives between past and present.

🛏️ Overnight in Yerevan
🚐 Distance: ~50 km | 🕒 Duration: 4-5 hours

Day 2 – Faith & Heritage: Spiritual Armenia

On day two of your Armenia and Georgia itinerary, you’ll explore the spiritual soul of the country. Begin with a pilgrimage to Ejmiatsin Cathedral, the oldest state-built Christian church in the world. Here, sacred relics such as the Holy Spear and a fragment of Noah’s Ark await you in the nearby museum.

Enjoy a traditional Armenian meal in an ethnographic center before heading to the Sardarapat Memorial, a powerful symbol of resilience with fortress-inspired architecture.

End your day exploring the stunning ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral, a 7th-century marvel that once rivaled Rome in grandeur.

✨ Want to go deeper into Armenia’s sacred sites? Customize your journey to include more cultural encounters.

🛏️ Overnight in Yerevan
🚐 Distance: ~70 km | 🕒 Duration: 7 hours

Day 3 – Wine, Monasteries & Mount Ararat

Today’s journey offers a blend of faith, wine, and stunning landscapes. Begin at Khor Virap Monastery, where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned. The views of Mount Ararat from here are nothing short of mythical.

Travel onward to Areni, home of the oldest known winery (6100 years!). Tour the Areni Cave, then sip and swirl local varietals at a historic winery, accompanied by homemade fruit vodka and lunch.

Afterward, we visit the cliffside Noravank Monastery, one of Armenia’s most photogenic sites, followed by a hands-on culinary stop at a local Gastro Yard.

Wrap up your scenic day at Spandaryan Reservoir before reaching the historic town of Goris, where your warm dinner and charming hotel await.

🛏️ Overnight in Goris
🚐 Distance: ~270 km | 🕒 Duration: 10 hours

Day 4 – Khndzoresk & Tatev: Armenia’s Hidden Gems

Start the morning with a hike through Khndzoresk Cave Village, a surreal landscape of dwellings carved into rock. Cross the swinging bridge for a thrilling view of the gorge.

Savor lunch with a view of the Tatev Monastery, then take flight on the world’s longest reversible cable car — the "Wings of Tatev". Glide above the Vorotan Canyon, a highlight of any caucasus travel itinerary.

Your road leads next to the Shaqi Waterfall, a local gem hidden among cliffs, before stargazing in the peaceful village of Hermon.

🛏️ Overnight in Hermon Village
🚐 Distance: ~230 km | 🕒 Duration: 6 hours

Day 5 – Silk Road Secrets & Alpine Armenia

Travel along the historic Silk Road, stopping at the 13th-century Selim Caravanserai — once a vital link between Europe and Asia. Continue to a highland village home to the largest collection of khachkars (cross-stones), a symbol of Armenia’s spiritual artistry.

Indulge in a tasting of artisan cheeses aged in brandy and wine at a family-run farm.

Follow the winding road around Lake Sevan, one of the highest alpine lakes in the world, and enjoy lunch at a serene lakeside restaurant.

Conclude the day in Dilijan, often called “Armenia’s Switzerland.” Walk through the Old Dilijan Complex, where wood-carved balconies and artisan studios line cobblestone streets.

🛏️ Overnight in Dilijan
🚐 Distance: ~170 km | 🕒 Duration: 7–8 hours

🌿 Day 6 – UNESCO Wonders & Lost Traditions in Northern Armenia

The day begins in the verdant landscapes of Dilijan, often compared to a national park in Switzerland. After a traditional breakfast surrounded by forested hills, we make our way to the 13th-century Haghartsin Monastery, nestled in a secluded valley and surrounded by ancient oaks. Its peaceful atmosphere sets the tone for the day.

Then, dive into Armenia's ethnic mosaic with a visit to a Molokan village, where Russian Old Believers have preserved their language, religion, and culinary heritage since the 19th century. You’ll enjoy lunch at a local Molokan home, with tea brewed in a traditional Samovar and rustic dishes passed down through generations.

In the afternoon, uncover the hidden Lori Berd Fortress, perched dramatically over the Dzoraget River Gorge — a powerful site that tells stories of medieval Armenia’s battles and glory.

Our route ends in the quiet village of Haghpat, where UNESCO-listed architecture and authentic rural life coexist.

🛏️ Overnight – Haghpat Village
🚐 Distance: ~130 km | 🕒 Duration: 6–7 hours

🌆 Day 7 – Cross the Border to Tbilisi: The Soul of Georgia

Today marks the transition to the second gem of the Caucasus — Georgia. After a scenic drive to the Sadakhlo border, you’ll be welcomed by your Georgian guide and transferred to Tbilisi, the capital.

We begin with a hearty Georgian breakfast at Tsiskvili, a riverside museum-restaurant celebrating national culture and cuisine.

Next: a walking tour of Old Tbilisi, where wooden balconies, colorful facades, and narrow cobbled alleys evoke a bygone era. Highlights include the Holy Trinity Cathedral — one of the tallest Orthodox churches in the world — and the Chronicles of Georgia, a Stonehenge-like monument telling the story of Georgian resilience and unity.

🛏️ Overnight – Tbilisi
🚐 Distance: ~110 km | 🕒 Duration: 7–8 hours

🏔️ Day 8 – Military Highway & The Majesty of Mount Kazbek

Today, we trace the legendary Georgian Military Highway, a route rich in history and unforgettable landscapes. First stop: the serene Zhinvali Reservoir, framed by forested hills and home to a half-submerged medieval church.

Nearby stands the Ananuri Fortress, a stronghold of feudal Georgia, complete with watchtowers, secret passages, and lakeside views.

Climb higher into the Greater Caucasus to reach the Gudauri Panorama, the Friendship Monument symbolizing peace between nations. Sweeping views of Devil's Valley and mountain ranges unfold beneath you.

The day’s apex is Gergeti Trinity Church, perched dramatically at 2170m above sea level, against the backdrop of Mount Kazbek, often snow-capped and mysterious.

🛏️ Overnight – Tbilisi
🚐 Distance: ~320 km | 🕒 Duration: 10 hours

🍷 Day 9 – Sighnaghi: Wine, Love & Georgia’s Sweet Side

What’s a Georgia tour without wine? Today we travel east to Kakheti, the country’s premier wine-producing region. Our first stop is the Bodbe Monastery, the final resting place of Saint Nino, with panoramic views over the Alazani Valley.

From here, we reach the romantic town of Sighnaghi, known as the “City of Love”, where couples can get married at any time of the day. Stroll its charming red-roofed streets, stone towers, and scenic lookouts over the Caucasus Mountains.

The afternoon culminates with an authentic wine tasting in a local family-owned vineyard, where traditional qvevri wine is still aged underground in clay vessels.

🛏️ Overnight – Tbilisi
🚐 Distance: ~220 km | 🕒 Duration: 7–8 hours

🌉 Day 10 – Diamond Bridge & Sky-High Dining

Today’s journey reveals one of Georgia’s most exhilarating structures — the Diamond Bridge, suspended nearly 900 feet above a lush, forested gorge. This architectural marvel offers a 360° panoramic experience of cliffs, waterfalls, and untouched wilderness.

Enjoy lunch in a restaurant suspended over the gorge, combining thrills and gourmet cuisine. This is a day for Instagram-worthy views and once-in-a-lifetime photos.

Return to Tbilisi filled with awe.

🛏️ Overnight – Tbilisi
🚐 Distance: ~180 km | 🕒 Duration: 6 hours

🌌 Day 11 – Kutaisi & Prometheus Cave

Head west to the ancient city of Kutaisi, the former capital and second-largest city of Georgia. A peaceful urban gem, it combines old-world charm with modern tranquility.

After lunch at Lilestan Restaurant, where everything is freshly prepared, explore the spectacular Prometheus Cave, the longest in Europe. Inside, surreal rock formations and subterranean rivers create a mythical world that echoes with local legends.

If time permits, visit the nearby Sataplia Nature Reserve, where dinosaur footprints and ancient forests still endure.

🛏️ Overnight – Kutaisi
🚐 Distance: ~241 km | 🕒 Duration: 8–9 hours

🕍 Day 12 – Georgia’s UNESCO Heritage Finale

Our final full day is dedicated to Georgia’s UNESCO World Heritage treasures.

We start at Bagrati Cathedral, rising above Kutaisi as a symbol of Georgian unity since the 11th century. Then, join a cooking masterclass and enjoy wine tasting at Argohouse Korena, where tradition and hospitality blend.

Later, drive to Mtskheta, the spiritual heart of Georgia. Visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, burial site of kings and saints, and Jvari Monastery, where Saint Nino planted the cross that marked Georgia’s Christian rebirth.

🛏️ Overnight – Tbilisi
🚐 Distance: ~235 km | 🕒 Duration: 8–9 hours

✈️ Day 13 – Departure from Tbilisi

As your 13-day Armenia and Georgia tour comes to an end, enjoy a relaxed transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. You leave with memories of monasteries and mountains, vineyards and villages, warm hosts and ancient legends — the essence of the Caucasus.

My majors are international tourism management and linguistics. When I first entered the college to fill out the application, the first thing I saw was a huge poster with lots of photos of tourism faculty students on various trips. The first thing that came to my mind was that I wanted to visit all these places, too. So I made up my decision, and here I am with no regrets. For me, tourism is not just about traveling. It is about a huge experience of continuously meeting new people, communicating with diverse cultures, learning each day, and unstoppable exchanging emotions. At the end of the day, when all the travelers are satisfied at the hotels, all the emails are answered, and a lot of emotions and energy are exchanged. That is when I feel happy and satisfied. However, this is not the end. My happy moment is doubled when a traveler returns home and writes a thank you email or leaves nice feedback on the website. Those are the points that make my job purely attractive to me.

As a tour manager based in Armenia, I find deep inspiration in the ancient traditions, beautiful landscapes, and strong spirit of the Caucasus region, which includes Armenia, Georgia, and beyond. When I discovered this sphere, it immediately resonated with me. It felt like a living connection to the thousands of years of history travelers experience on tours throughout the Caucasus. To me, the sphere stands for wholeness, unity, and the endless journey of discovery. These ideas shape every experience I create.

Fabulous tour of beautiful Armenia

We did a 6-day tour through Armenia, our guide was Arthur. The trip was simply amazing from start to finish. Armenia is a beautiful country with stunning scenery and friendly locals. We did hiking, touring and food and wine tasting. We were very well looked after by our tour guide - he was very knowledgeable and proud of Armenia. Our accommodation was really good, especially our country home stay - food was all home cooked and produced. They were excellent - very caring, flexible and experienced. We were so happy with the whole experience - what a great time we had!

Once in a lifetime trio to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.

We worked with Nune to design a custom tour for our small group of friends. At the end, just prior to departure from US, we had many changes that needed to happen at the last moment - 4 people had to drop off due to various personal conditions first, then, in the middle of the trip, we asked for a change in the itinerary in one of the countries visited. Surprisingly, Nune managed to pull it off!At the end, we saw a lot of unforgettable sites and met a lot of wonderful people.

A true learning and cultural experience

We did a 14-day Armenia and Georgia tour. Experiencing the culture and food were our best experiences. We have learned so much about Armenia and Georgia thanks to the guides. Be prepared for some long days - there is so much to do and see! The 3-star hotels were comfortable and breakfasts were good. We really appreciated staying and eating at local family-run hotels and restaurants - a great way to give back to the communities we visit.
