What late June – early July 2026 felt like

We slept Milia (west hills) four nights, Triopetra Notos four nights, Arcus near Rethymno two nights, plus one Heraklion transit night. Lived snapshots we can claim:

• Balos early: we went early (~6:30 context in trip planning; field notes cover mid-morning realities too). Icons punish late arrivals in this season.

• Hill vs coast: Milia mornings felt different from south-coast wind and pebble heat.
